The bridesmaids are wearing various knee length silk chiffon J Crew dresses in the shade "clover." Below is a photo I found on the web (sorry can't remember which website) that has a real wedding with bridesmaids in the third style.  The groom and groomsmen will wear black suits with green ties. More details to come. My dress is a silk organza A-line from the Christos line by Amsale. It's airy and light weight, perfect for my outdoor summer ceremony. I got it at a sample sale at Stanley Korshak otherwise I definitely wouldn't be able to afford it! I don't want to give too much away before the wedding so here's shot of the beading detail on the bodice (the strand of pearls is not a part of the dress, and this is a model, not me).  Becky Fowler is doing the alterations on my gown. I knew she was the one I could trust with sizing down a dress 2 sizes and still maintaining its look. She's such a sweet lady. My shoes are red satin peeptoe slingbacks by Valentino. This was definitely a splurge, but I was on vacation in NYC and Bergdorf Goodman was having a sale. This shoe lover just couldn't resist.  I will probably change into a shorter length dress (an ivory BCBG number) sometime during the reception, so I can really show off my shoes! I also bought the J Crew Camellia flip flops in case my beloved Valentinos torture my feet on the dance floor.  The groomsmen will wear black suits of their choice and we'll provide green ties. We found solid green ties for the groomsmen that match the bridesmaid dresses perfectly at Neiman's. It was a little bit of a splurge but since I bought the BM's their dresses, the GM's deserve a little something something, too. I found white and green striped ties for the ushers and a tonal green on green striped tie for the groom at Steinmart. The groom, groomsmen, and ushers will all be sporting these awesome Express argyle socks:  The dads will wear red on red tonal stripe ties very similar in style to the groom's tie. And they also have argyle socks that are mostly gray with a few skinny red stripes. |
