The food & drink at the wedding will be a reflection of D&M's lives.  Classic American cuisine for M's childhood in Ohio, Asian for D's heritage, and a little southwestern/Tex-Mex for our present and future in Texas.

THE DRINKS

The wedding will feature an open bar with beer, wine, and the following signature drinks:

  • Shanghai Lotus (Texas native Tito's vodka, lychee liquor, cranberry juice, and a splash of lime)
  • Cleveland Superbowl Fantasy (Tito's vodka, orange juice, and pineapple juice)
  • Texas Rum Rita (Texas native Treaty Oak Rum, Cointreau, and lime juice)

THE FOOD

We have decided on a caterer, and I couldn't be more excited about the menu!

After tastings with 4 different caterers, we decided to go with Wendy Krispin.  She was a little more expensive than the other options, but the creativity of her presentation and quality of ingredients couldn't be beat.  The proposed menu is as follows:

Passed Hors d'Oeuvres for Cocktail Hour

  • Ahi tuna tartar on wonton crisp with wasabi creme fraiche
  • Blue cheese stuffed dates wrapped in bacon
  • Shots of watermelon gazpacho

Reception Stations

  • Asian Buffet
    • Vegetable spring rolls with chili garlic sauce, peanut sauce, lettuce, and nuoc cham
    • Chicken and shrimp lo mein noodles in tiny takeout boxes
  • American Traditions
    • Beef tenderloin medallions with bearnaise and horseradish sauce
    • Truffle mashed potatoes
    • Haricot verts with grilled mushrooms
  • Avocado Bar
    • Ripe avocado halves in martini glasses with toppings of your choice, including caviar, warm chili con queso, warm chicken salsa, grilled tomatillo salsa, sour cream, pico de gallo, and assorted shredded cheeses.

Ice cream, anyone?

This is a budget pending item, but I would really like to add a gelato cart from Paciugo

when we do the cake cutting.  We didn't want to do another dessert spread since we're already having cake, but cake and ice cream (or gelato) seems like the perfect combination!

Update: Gelato cart has been booked!  The flavors will be Pannacotta (wedding cake), Fondente (extra dark Belgian chocolate), Green Tea, and Raspberry.
